RAV by Sweden was founded by Maria and Tian Ming with the ambition to inspire you to discover amber, rav.
Maria and Tian Ming met in Shanghai, China, in 2013. They quickly noticed that amber was popular in China. In an era of mass production and over consumption, many Chinese appreciated the fact that rav is a natural material and that each stone is unique.
This insight inspired Maria, who grew up in southern Sweden where amber occurs naturally, to rediscover and reevaluate amber. Tian Ming had always been fascinated by gemstones but knew little about amber. This was the beginning of a new adventure.
Today RAV by Sweden is based in Skåne, Sweden. With their own set of rules in terms of what is considered valuable and genuine, Maria and Tian Ming create modern and new areas of use for amber.
Our relationship with rav
Every piece of rav is a traveler.
When amber reaches the beaches of Skåne it has been in motion for millions of years. During its journey it has been shaped by nature. Wind, water, earth and salt gives amber its distinct shape and color. The immense journey makes each piece unique.
At RAV by Sweden you can buy amber jewellery. However, amber is much more than a piece of jewellery. Our ambition is to inspire more people to rediscover and revalue amber, a truly unique raw material. As a result, we also want to be a part of the continued journey of amber, towards modern areas of use and new formats.
We have an abundance of exciting choices. Are you looking for something trendy or classic? Do you prefer polished or half-polished? Or are you perhaps looking for untreated raw amber rock?
